YURIE: By far not a one-dimensional DJ, Yurie delivers a fusion of driving, melodic, rich progressive and electro-house but adapts her sound to any venue atmosphere from hip hop, all the way to dubstep. Her versatility, high energy, and ability to enthuse any crowd is what keeps Yurie rising within the DJ music scene.
With her Japanese and European roots, DJ Yurie is inspired by different cultures and her love of music. Beginning at the age of 7 by studying classical piano and voice, she continues to focus on music theory which has helped her grow an impeccable ear to detail, heard in all her sets. Inspiration of becoming a DJ first came to her in high school, when friends noticed her eclectic taste in music and began asking for monthly mix-tapes. At 17 and under the tutelage of DJ Leanne, DJ Yurie discovered a natural passion for mixing. A year later, she acquired her own turntables. With a determination to succeed and her added schooling in Radio Broadcasting, she has seen herself achieve a high standard of DJing. Since then, DJ Yurie currently holds residency at Bar None’s “Grand St. Friday’s” and BLVD22’s “Le Privé Saturdays”, and continues to erupt dance floors at a variety of clubs and events across Vancouver.
Happy Ending Fridays features the world’s best on rotation alongside local superstars. Happy Ending Fridays feature Hedspin (Eh!Team DJ’s), Rico Uno (The Freshest), Marvel (The Freshest), Sincerely Hana (Glory Days), Cherchez (Rad Times), Brendan Butter (Livestock), GMAN (Timebomb, Livestock) with the world’s greatest Dj’s on rotation.
