Video: Kilo Kish, “Navy”

source fader

Kilo Kish, the Brooklyn-via-Orlando rapper profiled by Andrew Noz in FADER #81, releases her first music video today, for “Navy,” self-directed with Ben Rayner. As an artist whose down-to-earth music evokes times when you’re bundled or cuddling, Kish wisely films the video in small spaces; only she can make a phone booth seem cozy. The single is out digitally now, featuring a remix by MeLo-X, with a 12-inchon the way.

Next Friday, Kilo Kish, FADER editor-in-chief Matthew Schnipper and New York Times pop music critic Jon Caramanica will lead a 56th Street Round Table discussion entitled “Rap Today + Its Future.” Order tickets now, because it’s going to be so weird/amazing.
