facts to Pharadox
Born and raised under the dim street lights of Johannesburg, Pharadox has exploded onto the local Bass scene in Johannesburg. Growing up Pharadox found the guitar to be his instrument of choice, passing through various bands with varying amount of success until he struck it big in a band called Unlisted. It was there he was exposed to the South African music scene in full scale, melting minds in festivals around the country, and having the honour of gracing the stage alongside Underoath on their South African tour.
Pharadox eventually left the band scene and has since found a love in a new music genre- Drum and Bass. Drawing from experience in the local music scene, Pharadox quickly grasped the mechanics of his new tool of destruction- his decks. Armed with his new weapon, Pharadox has set out to destroy dancefloors around the country.
Inspired by the likes of Netsky, Camo & Krooked, Sigma, Brookes Brothers, Spor, The Qemists, and local Djs such as Benson and Niskerone, Pharadox has found a unique balance between the flowing sounds of liquid bass and the bone-crunching bass of heavier genres such as Jump Up and tech DnB.
Relatively new as a DJ and producer, Pharadox has shown his prowess in his short beginnings in the local Bass scene, being highly regarded as the Boss of the Breakdown, and being featured on 93.8 Mix FM, shattering brains at Jozifest (Carfax), and tearing up the decks alongside the likes of Point 4, Benson, Natural Selekta, Destrukto and Tha Cutt.
Pharadox has played in South Africa’s premier events such as Woodstock, the Underoath South African Tour, Lusitoland, Jozifest and Low Frequency Love.
Pharadox is also one of the founding members of the Johannesburg based Bass movement, Bass Krusade alongside fellow DJ and producer Point 4, whose aim is to shatter crowds in and around Johannesburg with the best in Drum and Bass, Dubstep, and Drumstep.
To all Drum and Bass fans out there, watch out for the likes of Pharadox and his Bass Krusade- for he will not find peace until he has conquered all those who find love in the rapturous sound of Drum and Bass, leaving an army of Krusadahs to spread the word of Bass.
