Although we’ve let it slip a couple over the past few months, let this be the official “if you don’t know, now you know” announcement: The next release on LFTF’s free music label Our Sounds will be from none other than Perth, Australia-based experimentalist @soundcloud.com/takugotbeats. Since graduating from the esteemed Red Bull Music Academy in 2008, Ta-ku has utilized his progressive beat training to pioneer numerous critically acclaimed releases—perhaps most notably his 50 Days For Dilla project, which saw the producer creating a new beat every day for 50 days using Dilla’s signature sampling, sequencing, and programming techniques. Today, Ta-ku is ranked amongst the best brightest in forward-thinking production, and fresh off arguably his most impressive year to date, we couldn’t be more excited to present to the world his first official project of 2013, the Make It Last EP. Amounting to four tracks total, the EP is pioneered by its envelope-pushing title track “Make It Last”, which hails a guest feature from famed R&B singer/songwriter JMSN.
